Estimate your payout
Spotify pays no fixed amount per stream. It pays rights holders by streamshare, your share of all streams in a market each month, and in 2025 one in every million Spotify streams earned about $11,000 (Spotify Loud & Clear). Duetti measured that independent artists and other master owners received about $3.00 per 1,000 Spotify streams in 2024 (Duetti).
Your own rate moves with your listeners' countries, the share of Premium and free listening, and your distribution deal. Treat every number below as an estimate.
| Platform | Average per 1,000 streams (2024) | Your estimated payout |
|---|---|---|
| Spotify | $3.00 | $30 |
| YouTube | $4.80 | $48 |
| Apple Music | $6.20 | $62 |
| Amazon Music | $8.80 | $88 |

Understand your result
Spotify pays rights holders by streamshare, your share of all streams in a market each month, so no service has a fixed per-stream rate. I multiply your streams by the average that Duetti measured per 1,000 streams in 2024 for each service, then apply your distributor or label share. Use the result as an estimate, and check your distributor's statement for the real figure.
